The Institute of Science and Technology Development (The Institute) is mainly responsible for the organization and management of the university's scientific and technological innovation. The Advanced Technology Research Institute, The Earth Science Popularization and Creation Center, The Academic Committee Office, and The Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Center are affiliated to the Institute as well. The main responsibilities of the Institute are:

(1) To set out the university's strategic planning for scientific and technological development, science and technology policies, science and technology management measures, and to provide scientific and technological consultation service;

(2) To organize and manage the various project applications;

(3) To organize and manage the projects and funding of the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities;

(4) To organize academic exchange activities, cultivate science and technology talents, build science and technology research teams, and incubate science and technology research bases;

(5) To take charge of the application and management of science and technology awards, evaluate and promote scientific and technological achievements, and manage the intellectual properties of the University;

(6) To coordinate the work of the Academic Committee Office, the Science Popularization and Creation Center, and the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Center;

(7) To complete other work assigned by the University.
